PlexiPixel Bee

The Wurst is on online Gallery based out of Portland, Oregon and is run by Jason Sturgill.

There are so many awesome artists out there who don’t have a way to showcase their work in galleries, and even if they did, not everyone interested in attending would be able to get there. Jason had a bright idea that the world should have access to this incredible art online. The Wurst incorporates small, independent artists along with giants such as Adidas and Laika. Such Northwest faves such as Le Merde and Apak are featured.

The Wurst is always accepting submissions for consideration in future shows.

For more information, you can send an email or call (503) 734-6642.

Friend of Plexipixel, and diva extraordinaire Ellen Forney, has been chosen to publish her writing in a year long program called Seattle P-I Writers in Residence.

Every month in 2007 will feature a different writer, including Sherman Alexie, Ann Rule and Ivan Doig. Congratulations to Ellen for this wonderful opportunity! More of Ellen’s work can be seen and purchased at Fantagraphics Books.

It’s been a sad month. We just lost Joe Barbera, and now Iwao Takamoto, creator of Scooby-Doo has died. Takamoto was vice-president at Warner Brothers at the time of his death.

See BBC and Cartoon Brew for more on the incredible life of Iwao Takamoto. May he rest in peace.

Plexipixel is proudly sponsoring Cinema K, the children’s film festival held at the Northwest Film Forum on Capitol Hill.

We have a handful of comp tickets and if you send an email to us, you may just get a pass for two! First come first serve.

The festival runs January 27th - February 4th. NW Film Forum is located at 1515 12th Ave between Pine and Pike on Seattle’s Capitol Hill.
