Tra Selhtrow (pretty much spells worthless art backwards) is showing his skills down at OKOK this Saturday night. The following is the artist’s statement taken from his website:
Tra Selhtrow’s compositions layer graphite, ink, and oil into distorted narratives inhabited by lucid animals, humans, and often a cross between the two. Selhtrow frames the subtle abstraction of human emotion into works that confide and conceal themselves before the viewer. Precise ink strokes are visited by unapologetic paint smears while faint graphite drawing fade into the background. Selhtrow’s works exhibit diligent craft and an eagerness to explore the possibilities of his mediums.
OKOK is located at 5107 Ballard Ave NW in Seattle. The opening reception is Saturday, November 11th from 6-10pm.
