NW Film Forum and Cinema K are proud to present the Gumby 50th Anniversary Celebration from Friday, October 20th through Thursday, October 26th.
For 50 years, Gumby has been the small green clay conduit to the mind-boggling skill and creative spirit of pioneering animator Art Clokey. This 50th Anniversary celebration of Clokey’s work features a walk through the decades with beloved animated characters Gumby, Pokey, the Blockheads, Groobee, and Davey and Goliath as well as other early, rarely seen works by Clokey, including GUMBASIA, arguably the first music video, television commercials from the 1950s, and the magnificent 1977art film MANDALA. This program will amuse audiences of all ages and offer awe-inspiring revelations to anyone passionate about the art and history of animation.

Join them on Opening Night, October 20, 8 pm and meet Gumby, Joe Clokey, Al Eggleston (Gumby’s original art diector) and Bill Webb (Art Clokey’s best friend and lifelong collaborator!)

I’ve been busy but finally got to Fantagraphic’s blog for the first time in a month.  They were so nice to kick us some love we just have to do the same.

Check out the article called Last Weekend about our lovely evening early this month that included the Kickstart Kuties artshow and then ended with karaoke with the Woodrings, Tom Dougherty and some newfound Fantagraphics peeps (Gregory Zura and his lovely wife and friends).
