Schmancy is pleased to present new work by New Jersey artist, Angie Mason. Schmancy 1930 2nd Ave
Seattle, WA 98101
Seattle – Belltown store, Schmancy, is pleased to announce that Angie Mason will be showing new work entitled ” Delectable Demons”.July 7th-Angie Mason was born on May 22, 1973 in northern New Jersey. She graduated with a B.F.A. in 1997 from Parsons School of Design. Mason’s works are exhibited nationally throughout the United States and is emerging in the international art world as well. Her paintings are strong in color and character heavy concepts. In Mason’s paintings she creates a visual playground where she deals with the human condition and emotions through the use of creating slightly off quirky characters that are beautifully rendered yet have a painterly hand and an innocent raw touch. Her childlike charm within these works is quite addicting much like a sweet bottle of soda…too much caffeine and sugar will rot your teeth. With that said there is a dark side to these works that make her seemingly cute characters also twisted, moody bruised souls. Mason’s use of light and dark play a perfect balance on this see-saw of a visual ride. Her melancholy menagerie of characters and worlds are a funny, whimsical, dark and tragic view at the wonderful mess of life. Currently, Angie is living in a spooky old house in Northern, New Jersey with her husband Lyle C Briggs, and their very bad kitty Mr. Nervil NerverBurger. The opening reception will be held on July 7th from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
